Fishing in Far North Queensland is varied with everything from River to Beach to Ocean
Hull River, Tully River and Murray River, These 3 river systems are similar in length and structure features, with mangrove lined banks, flats and feeder creeks. They have fresh water running into them but are dependent on recent rains.
They hold good mud crabs, and all fish well in summer for Mangrove Jack and Barramundi, Flathead all year round and Trevally, Queenfish and Salmon in winter. The Hull River has been heavily fished over the past years with no stocking program as such but there is a boat ramp on the southern side which provides access out to Dunk Island, shallow reefs and shoals for targeting reef fish.
