Dunk Island is a breeding site for many birds in the summer months. The bird life varies according to the season with many migrating here to mate while others migrate elsewhere for the winter. One of the most important wetlands Eubenangee Swamp, lies just north of Innisfail and is a birdwatchers’ paradise. A walk to the swamp offers the opportunity to see over 190 bird species.
Here are a few of the many of the tropical birds you will see regularly around the Cassowary Coast and in the Rainforest.
